This award-winning renovation breathes new life into a classic transitional bungalow in Mt Eden, transforming a dated layout into a refined, light-filled home while preserving the character that defines the neighbourhood.
The upper level was completely gutted and rebuilt, allowing the design team to reconfigure the floor plan for modern living. The kitchen was relocated to a more functional central position, and new windows were strategically introduced to maximise natural light and connection to the outdoors. These structural changes dramatically improved both flow and usability without compromising the home’s heritage appeal.
High-quality finishes and bespoke timber joinery create a warm, elegant interior, balancing traditional detailing with contemporary comfort. The result is a home that feels both timeless and fresh — designed for modern family life while respecting its architectural roots.
This project required careful planning and coordination to integrate new services, structure, and layout within an older building shell, highlighting the complexities inherent in major character renovations.
