You will either be referred to us by your architect or have contacted us directly. In both cases, the first thing we’ll do is call you to hear more about your project and arrange a time to meet you on site.


Ben Lewis will meet you on site to discuss your project, understand the scope of work and view the building plans (if you have them).


Based on the information we get from you at the site visit, we provide you either with an estimate of cost (if your buildings plans are in the concept phase) or a fixed price contract (if your plans are fully set). We meet with you to go through the quote and answer any questions you may have. At this meeting, we’ll also explain in detail how the costs are structured and where we can offer you savings without compromising the quality of the build.

If you don’t have building plans yet, we can put you in touch with an architect who will create those plans for you. These are needed to progress with pricing and moving forward in the build project.


Once you’ve decided to proceed with us, we send you a Masters Builders contract, guarantee and insurance. We also provide a construction programme, and a payment schedule for you to review and agree on. Once the contract is signed, the invoice for the required deposit is sent to you and contract works insurance is put in place by you, the client.


Once building consents are approved, we start the build as per the construction programme. Your build job will have a supervisor/builder, a builder and an apprentice. Ben Lewis liaises with the supervisor daily and visits the site every second day to ensure the build is carried out to the agreed specifications and timelines. Ben will also liaise with you, the client, via phone and email about any decisions needed regarding any client-supplied items or subcontractors you may have organised. Any variations you request are sent via email for charging. Once a week, Ben will meet you for a site visit to discuss the progress of the build with you. In addition to this, we handle the management of all Lewis Build appointed subcontractors and organise all Council paperwork and meetings.

At the finish of the build, Ben will arrange a walkthrough with you to pick any final amendments. Once these are completed, a final inspection is booked through the Council. This concludes the handover, and Code of Compliance documents are collected and submitted, which are then passed by Council and sent to you, the owner of a newly built Lewis Build home.


Our commitment to you doesn’t finish when we hand over the keys. You can call on us for any maintenance issues after 90 days, and again after one year of completion of the build. We want to make sure your house is at its highest quality after its first year cycling through all the four seasons.
